Preventative and Wellness Services

Preventative Pet Health of Michiana is the area's very first low-cost pet preventative healthcare clinic.

Preventative Pet Health of Michiana understands how critical basic veterinary care is for keeping pets with their owners, out of area shelters, and protected from preventable diseases. Same day services are offered by appointment only, are customized for your pet and your specific lifestyle, are very affordable, and without income qualifications or restrictions.

Appointments include an assessment by a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, parasite prevention/control recommendations, and administration of vaccinations. Microchip implantation, heartworm testing and/or FIV/FeLV testing can also be done at this time. Preventative Pet Health of Michiana will notate and discuss all abnormalities found upon physical exam, will provide documentation of your visit to your full service veterinarian, and/or provide referrals if needed.

All patients are required to be up-to-date on the rabies vaccine (if your pet is not up-to-date, you will be required to purchase the rabies vaccine when you visit the clinic with your pet), all dogs are required to be on leashes, and all cats must be in a carrier. Any sick pets will not be vaccinated, and overly aggressive pets or pets that cannot be controlled by their owner will not be vaccinated.

Service may be refused to any pet owner who does not comply with our guidelines.

Please understand that Preventative Pet Health of Michiana does not take the place of a regular yearly wellness exam. It is recommend that you have your pet checked by your regular veterinarian once a year. While many pet owners may think this is an unnecessary expense, it can actually be something that can save your pets life. Your regular vet has the ability to find small issues on your pet during a full physical exam that can be corrected or cured early. Your regular veterinarian is the best source of information and advice on how to deal with issues surrounding the health and well-being of your pet. Please ensure that even though vaccines have been given to your pet at Preventative Pet Health of Michiana, that you make a yearly appointment with your regular vet to have a complete physical exam done.
The expense of a yearly exam is worth it!
